The Provincial Territorial Coordination Plan lists the large trees in the province of Vicenza, under Article .42 of technical standards,
"Municipalities, in its planning and add to the list above further large Trees in the municipality and establish appropriate measures for the protection, restoration and enhancement of tree-shrub vegetation structure and ecological systems present in these localized. In particular, municipalities
dictate specific measures for the protection and preservation of large trees in the list in all'Alllegato C, prohibiting all actions that may compromise its integrity.
If work on the underground road or maintenance of watercourses municipalities shall, in particular, not comprottere the roots of large trees.
The Province of Vicenza offers commissions for the establishment and revision of the landscape bond the declaration of notable public interest in geographical areas surrounding large trees, buildings and areas considered to be of significant public interest pursuant to art. 136 of Legislative Decree 42/2004.
The Province of Vicenza, with a reasoned request under art. 14 of Legislative Decree 42/2004, the Superintendent proposes to initiate proceedings for the declaration of the cultural contexts of the particular environment of Big Trees. "
In the municipality of Arzignano are shown three trees: The poplars of Villa Salviati ( http://arzignanonatura.blogspot.com/2006/08/cosa-resta-dei-pioppi-monumentali.html ), the two plane Via Campo Marzio, which are now only the plane tree in front of Charlie Chaplin films, and the street Moraro Giorio.
It is a white mulberry (Morus alba ) with a circumference of 130 cm from the collar of over 3.30 m, apparent age of many centuries. The stem is hollow and tilted, her hair slightly asymmetrical.
Inside the hollow trunk grows a winter jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum ) which, with its brilliant flowering signals the spring around the corner. The jasmine in the tree is certainly a curiosity of human activities that gave rise ad un esperimento estetico riuscito. Rimane incerto l'effetto dell'apparato radicale del gelsomino all'interno del fusto, che se da un lato tiene asciutto l'interno dell'albero, dall'altro può contribuire alla sua degradazione con gli essudati radicali.
Accanto ai tre grandi alberi menzionati, nella redazione del Piano di Assetto del Territorio si potranno aggiungere altri alberi, che non solo per dimensione o per età, ma anche per posizione, storia e per l'inserimento nel paesaggio possono essere valorizzati e tutelati. E' il caso per esempio del grande ippocastano di Castello, all'inizio di via degli Scaligeri, e di numerosi altri alberi in parte menzionati nel blog. Riportiamo qui alcune fotografie di un "Maronaro" di via Gonzati a San Zeno e le "Morarine" all'ingresso di viale Vicenza, residuo di una modalità di coltivazione antica, al delimitare dei campi, per l'allevamento dei bachi da seta.
